Beach attendance <br /> 1111 An attendance count at the beach was taken twice a day <br /> at 3 : 00 and 7: 00 p.m. , to determine the approximate <br /> number of bathers using the waterfront daily. This <br /> count reflects the actual number of people in the water <br /> only, as it is difficult to be accurate in counting the <br /> number of people occupying the beachfront or <br /> picnic/playground area . The J.O.P.H.E.R. formula was <br /> used: <br /> 1 . Take an estimate of the midday crowd ( 3 :00 p.m. ) <br /> and multiply it by 2-1/2 . <br /> 2 . Take an estimate of the evening crowd ( 7 :00 p.m. ) <br /> and multiply by 1-1/2 . <br /> 3. Add these two figures together , for an <br /> approximate daily total . <br /> The average daily number of people in the water was <br /> recorded as follows: <br /> June 259 people <br /> July 366 people <br /> August 299 people <br /> • As any type of patron count has not been used at this <br /> beach previously, it will be necessary to compare the <br /> 1984 year with that of the summer of 1985 . <br /> E. Combined advertising : The Mounds View Community <br /> 1111 Education Bulletin and School Talk publications both <br /> displayed an easy to read master schedule of the <br /> Chippewa , Highview and Edgewood Pool seasonal programs <br /> and class offerings. These handy sales pieces were <br /> made possible through the Aquatic Director efforts. <br />
