` <br />1485 AQUATIC PROGRAM OBJBCTIVBS <br />The primary goal of the Aquatics Program is to develop an ongoing <br />City-wide comprehensive aquatics program including, but not lim- <br />iYed to, an American Red Cross swimming lesson proyram, lap and <br />open swims, special interest programs (water exercise, adapted <br />aquatics, arthritic exercise, scuba, etc.) and a public beach <br />program� in a safe and economical manner that will benefit all <br />aqes. <br />SUB GOALS <br />1. Increase the overall participation at the Edgewood Pool by 15 <br />per cent, between January 1, 1985 and December 31, 1985, in <br />comparison with the 1984 fiscal year. <br />2. Expand the current Edgewood Pool programs by developing and <br />implementing two new "special event" aquatic classes during <br />1985. <br />,,.-� 3. Develop a proposal for the replacement of the current Lake- <br />side Park tlock syatem, with po[ential implementation during <br />'—' 1985. <br />C. Develop a proposal for the replacement of the current Edge- <br />wood Pool diving board and observation gallery seating acea, <br />with implementation in 1985. <br />5. Expand our current public relations avenues by implementing <br />two new methods oE program advertising in 1985. <br />6. Improve the Mounds View School Distcict Aquatic communica- <br />ti4ns network by producing a yuarterly newsletter regarding <br />American Red Cross news and events, Mounds Vlew, Shoreview or <br />New Brighton Park and Recrea[ion news, and Northern Shores <br />"Mas[ers" and Mountls View Swim Club events. <br />-� 8.
