Mr. Wayne Burmeister, Chairperson
March 27, 1987
Page 2
p
Many people have told me how much they like seeing the ducks and geese
at the pond. I'm sure they would be here even without my feeding them,
although perhaps in smaller numbers. Granted, their droppings can be a
little messy. However, the rain and snow returns most of it into the
soil, which probably helps the park grass. In addition, I make it a
point to hose down the city park sidewalk that is next to our house when
it gets dirty with droppings. Lastly, the wood chip path that is to be
extended about 100 feet this spring will keep the trail clean for
hikers, since the feeding stations will be some distance from the path.
Could the commission please consider allowing me to continue to feed the
waterfowl on the park property? If this does meet with your approval,
could you present your findings to the City Council? If you feel that
having feeders on the park is not in the best interest of the community,
please let me know so that I can move them back.
Sincerely,
?"-6e,(7
Edward L.
