Staff <br /> also reviewed the MRPA legislative platform <br /> and specifically outlined MRPA' s position on <br /> cross country ski licenses, which is to re- <br /> evaluate the existing program as it does not <br /> appear to be successful in its current for- <br /> mat. <br /> AQUATICS DIRECTOR <br /> POSITION Staff reviewed the Aquatic Supervisor posi- <br /> tion job description and joint powers agree- <br /> ment with the City of New Brighton . The <br /> Commission had reviewed this issue on three <br /> previous occasions and once again stated <br /> their support for the proposed position. A <br /> motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, <br /> • • seconded by Commissioner Long to recommend to <br /> the City Council that the Aquatics Director <br /> position be advertised and hired as proposed <br /> by staff. The motion passed unanimously 5 <br /> ayes, 0 nayes. <br /> STAFF REPORT Staff reviewed the written report indicating <br /> that the winter skating program had drawn to <br /> a close on February 23 and that the depart- <br /> ment had offered four successful program dur- <br /> ing energy week with over 100 young people <br /> participating. <br /> Recreation/Athletic Supervisor Saarion out- <br /> lined current recreation program offerings as <br /> well as reviewing the summer adult softball <br /> program. Major changes in the summer adult <br /> softball program would be classifying of each <br /> league based on previous experience, and team <br /> league records. <br /> ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis, <br /> r. <br /> seconded by Commissioner Long to adjourn the <br /> meeting .
