-2 11 <br /> - <br /> LONG RANGE FACILITY <br /> USAGE REPORT Staff distributed a copy of the Long Range <br /> Facility Usage Report submitted to the School <br /> Board on January 27 , 1986. The report was <br /> highlighted by staff and following a general <br /> discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner <br /> Long, seconded by Commissioner Weflen to have <br /> staff prepare a letter from Chairperson <br /> Burmeister outlining the City' s current usage <br /> of the facility by the Park and Recreation <br /> Department as well as general community <br /> usage . The motion passed unanimously: 4 <br /> ayes, 0 nayes. <br /> DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED <br /> TOPICS FOR FEB. 11 JOINT <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING Staff reminded the Park Commission of a joint <br /> meeting with the Cities of Shoreview, New <br /> Brighton and Arden Hills on February 11 to <br /> discuss general park issues. The Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission reviewed staff ' s memor- <br /> andum of possible discussion topics and <br /> determined that the pending budget/financial <br /> crunch, as well as possible joint powers <br /> agreements would be good topic areas for <br /> general discussion. Staff indicated that <br /> they would draft a list of possible discus- <br /> sion questions for the February 11 meeting. <br /> STAFF REPORT Staff reviewed a conference he attended on <br /> the insurance crisis and the impact that <br /> increased insurance rates are having within <br /> the park and recreation profession. Staff <br /> also discussed that recent meeting progress <br /> with the City of New Brighton on developing a <br /> joint powers agreement for the hiring of an <br /> aquatics director. <br /> ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Commissioner Wuori , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Weflen to adjourn <br /> the meeting. Motion passed unanimously: 4 <br /> ayes, 0 nayes.
