-2 11 - LONG RANGE FACILITY USAGE REPORT Staff distributed a copy of the Long Range Facility Usage Report submitted to the School Board on January 27 , 1986. The report was highlighted by staff and following a general discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Long, seconded by Commissioner Weflen to have staff prepare a letter from Chairperson Burmeister outlining the City' s current usage of the facility by the Park and Recreation Department as well as general community usage . The motion passed unanimously: 4 ayes, 0 nayes. DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED TOPICS FOR FEB. 11 JOINT PARK BOARD MEETING Staff reminded the Park Commission of a joint meeting with the Cities of Shoreview, New Brighton and Arden Hills on February 11 to discuss general park issues. The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed staff ' s memor- andum of possible discussion topics and determined that the pending budget/financial crunch, as well as possible joint powers agreements would be good topic areas for general discussion. Staff indicated that they would draft a list of possible discus- sion questions for the February 11 meeting. STAFF REPORT Staff reviewed a conference he attended on the insurance crisis and the impact that increased insurance rates are having within the park and recreation profession. Staff also discussed that recent meeting progress with the City of New Brighton on developing a joint powers agreement for the hiring of an aquatics director. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Commissioner Wuori , seconded by Commissioner Weflen to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed unanimously: 4 ayes, 0 nayes.
