Each of the listed items are strictly informational <br />and not intended for formal Commission action. <br />1. City compost funding - The funding for the City compost pro- <br />gram :ias been transferred from Ramsey County to the Metropo]- <br />itan Council through the Land Abatement Act. The Cirv <br />recently received its optimal funding in the amount of $2,267 <br />which will fund the program Eor 1986. <br />2. ConferenCes and training - I will be attendinq two - one day <br />seminars durinq the next kwo weeks; the first being on the <br />status oE liability insurance" anci hr w it is affecting th• <br />recreation profession. The City recently experienced a 1UH <br />percent 'increase in our City's liab'ility:insurance and Park <br />and Recceation Agencies`across the metropol'itan area `are <br />experiencing similar, if not greater, increases. Th se onci <br />one day, `seminar will be held n 1Uesday, February 11 which <br />wil part oE the State Horriculture Conference, and I will be <br />atEending the one day session on turf maintenance. <br />3. Aquatics pasition - Staff has been meeting with the City of <br />New Brighton to review the feasiDility of a joint aquatics <br />position between the Cities of New Brighton and Mounds View. <br />We are hoping to have a proposal before the Park Commission <br />at your February 27 Commission meeting, which you coul i <br />review and discuss. At this time, it appears that we would he <br />sharing the position with the City oE New erighton an a 60/4t) <br />basis, with the futi.re status of Bdgewood Community Center <br />beir.g a majot. facto_.
