MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA December 10, 1987 Mounds View City Hall Council Chambers 6 : 30 p.m. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6: 30 p.m. by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Silvis , Long , Rowley, Daniels, Starr and Chairperson Burmeister. Councilmember present : Quick Staff present : Director Saarion APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Silvis made the motion to approve the October 22, 1987 minutes , seconded by Commissioner Long. The motion passed unanimously, 6 ayes , 0 nayes . AGENDA ADDITIONS AND INPUT Director Saarion requested discussion on • security lighting in the parks. Commissioner Silvis requested that the discussion of fertilizing criteria or guidelines be pursued. USE OF FERTILIZERS It was requested that Forester Wriskey write an article printed in the spring newsletter regarding information about lawn fertilizers including the make-up and use of chemicals , reprecussions of use, the appropriate timing for effectiveness and other informtion. It was also requested that staff write a proposal to recommend to the City Council an ordinance for the use of fertilizers . It was further requested that Forester Wriskey attend the January meeting to discuss this issue with the Commission. CHAIRPERSON' S REPORT Chairperson Burmeister reported on the meeting held with the Silver View pond residents regarding plantings and the Pinewood play structure project progress. COUNCILMEMBER' S REPORT Councilmember Quick reported on the Everest Development project , Greenfield Estate proceedings, an update on the pipeline, County Road I project and the plans for a city- wide survey.
