MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> December 10, 1987 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6 : 30 p.m. <br /> CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6: 30 <br /> p.m. by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister. <br /> ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Silvis , Long , <br /> Rowley, Daniels, Starr and Chairperson <br /> Burmeister. <br /> Councilmember present : Quick <br /> Staff present : Director Saarion <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Silvis made the motion to <br /> approve the October 22, 1987 minutes , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Long. The motion <br /> passed unanimously, 6 ayes , 0 nayes . <br /> AGENDA ADDITIONS AND <br /> INPUT Director Saarion requested discussion on <br /> • security lighting in the parks. <br /> Commissioner Silvis requested that the <br /> discussion of fertilizing criteria or <br /> guidelines be pursued. <br /> USE OF FERTILIZERS It was requested that Forester Wriskey <br /> write an article printed in the spring <br /> newsletter regarding information about lawn <br /> fertilizers including the make-up and use <br /> of chemicals , reprecussions of use, the <br /> appropriate timing for effectiveness and <br /> other informtion. <br /> It was also requested that staff write a <br /> proposal to recommend to the City Council <br /> an ordinance for the use of fertilizers . <br /> It was further requested that Forester <br /> Wriskey attend the January meeting to <br /> discuss this issue with the Commission. <br /> CHAIRPERSON' S REPORT Chairperson Burmeister reported on the <br /> meeting held with the Silver View pond <br /> residents regarding plantings and the <br /> Pinewood play structure project progress. <br /> COUNCILMEMBER' S REPORT Councilmember Quick reported on the Everest <br /> Development project , Greenfield Estate <br /> proceedings, an update on the pipeline, County <br /> Road I project and the plans for a city- <br /> wide survey. <br />
