<br /> IMPROVEMENT PLAN To begin the five year capital improvement
<br /> plan, the Commission brainstormed
<br /> recreation activity ideas which would be an
<br /> asset to the community. These activities
<br /> included :
<br /> Bocce ball , shuffle board, hockey, golfing,
<br /> XC skiing, skating, archery, walking,
<br /> softball/baseball , picnicking, biking,
<br /> tennis , exercising, sliding, horseshoes ,
<br /> nature exploration, playing on play
<br /> equipment, sandcourt volleyball , playing in
<br /> sandboxes, outdoor entertainment, frisbee
<br /> golf .
<br /> Capital development and expenditures which
<br /> would facilitate such activities include :
<br /> Shuffle board courts , bocce ball courts ,
<br /> golf course, tennis courts , exercise trail,
<br /> trails, exercise equipment, playground
<br /> equipment, bridges on trails, archery
<br /> range , frisbee golf course, picnic
<br /> shelters , sliding hills , picnic grills,
<br /> gazebo bandshell , picnic tables, nature
<br /> paths , sandlot diggers , sandlot volleyball •
<br /> courts , athletic fields.
<br /> Capital improvements of existing facilities
<br /> include :
<br /> Security lighting, lighting of athletic
<br /> fields , water fountains, toilet facilities ,
<br /> parking lots , landscaping, grounds
<br /> improvements , signs, park buildings , repair
<br /> of existing buildings , improvements to
<br /> Lakeside Beach, regrading of the parks , re-
<br /> doing the Silver View Amphitheater,
<br /> installation of sprinkler systems on
<br /> athletic fields, installation of water, gas
<br /> and electricity at Silver View.
<br /> The objective for the January meeting will
<br /> be to prioritize the activities and
<br /> necessary facilities to provide the
<br /> activities . The priority criteria will be
<br /> the need for the activity facility and
<br /> available funding.
<br /> OTHER BUSINESS A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis to
<br /> direct staff to write a letter to the
<br /> Council requesting input by the Commission 0
<br /> regarding the City-wide survey.
<br /> The motion was seconded by Commissioner
<br /> Daniels and passed unanimously, 6 ayes, 0
<br /> nayes.
