mak ._
ENGINEERS I ARCHITECTS■PLANNERS 222 EAST LITTLE CANADA ROAD,ST PAUL,MINNESOTA 55117 612 484-0272
March 24, 1988 RE: MOUNDS VIEW, MINNESOTA
SILVER VIEW PARK
SANITARY SEWER &
WATER SERVICES
SEH FILE NO. : 87154
City of Mounds View
2401 Highway 10
Mounds View, MN 55112
Attention: Mary Saarion
As requested, we have determined alternative methods available to
serve a potential park building with sanitary sewer and water
service. We understand that the main purpose of the service
• would be to provide general domestic usage in the building.
Possible additional uses of the water service would be for
skating rink flooding and future use as a source of water for a
ballfield sprinkler system.
Sanitary Sewer
The attached sketch shows a conceptual routing of the sanitary
sewer service considered. A service stub was extended from the
sanitary sewer during construction of the Silver Lake Woods
project. That could be extended as a 4" gravity sewer service to
the proposed building location. With sodding proposed as
restoration, the total construction cost is estimated at about
$10, 500 as shown on the attached cost estimate for Alternate A.
There are no closer sewer connections available to the proposed
building.
An alternative to the gravity sewer system would be to install a
1 1/4" plastic force main from the existing sewer stub to the
building which would require a "grinder" type lift station in the
building. The cost of this alternative is about $7, 900 as shown
on the attached cost estimate labeled Alternate B. For the
limited usage this building would get, the power cost would not
tend to be very significant. However, over time, it may still be
most cost effective to install the gravity sewer for the small
additional cost.
• Watermain
E C LSO'4
