two days a week for six weeks at $40. 00 per
• registration. This is over twice the cost and
half the number of days.
SCHOLARSHIPS: The Mounds View Lion's. Club generously contributed
$500. 00 for scholarships beginning in January
1992 . The money is almost expired in only one
session of recreation registration. All
scholarship recipients are required to complete a
form to ensure that they qualify for assistance.
The number of requests for assistance demonstrates
the great financial need of the community.
The department is requesting additional
scholarship funding from the Mounds View Lion' s
Club. This donation will offset the
cost of the program.
The Sunrise Seniors Club and Messiah Senior' s Club
have been functioning with whatever assistance
staff has been able to provide. Flyers,
information distribution and scheduling of trips
and activities have been performed, although the
groups have been left to carry out their meetings
by themselves with decreased involvement by
department staff because of the lack of time that
staff has to commit to attending their meetings.
MVCT: The MVCT Board of Directors have chosen the play
"CAMELOT" for this summer' s production. Staff
will be assisting the MVCT with administrative
support as previously performed. It is hoped that
staff will have the necessary time and staffing to
expand the marketing activities of the MVCT with
groups sales and advertising and also perform the
