r.
Wednesdays of each month. The next meeting will
be at Mounds View City Hall at 7: 00 p.m. on April •
8, 1992. You will be interested in knowing that
several senior citizens of Mounds View have been
attending the meeting on a regular basis. The
RSCC Task Force members representing Mounds View
have been very faithful in attendance and have
made a "mark" in the planning process.
SPRING
PROGRAMS: Spring programs are beginning. Summer athletic
program registrations begin April 11. The Summer
Activities Brochure will be distributed to homes
the first week of May with summer programs
beginning June 15, 1992 . Adult softball
registrations have been completed and the game
schedules begin April 20.
ATHLETIC
FIELD
MAINTENANCE: Mary Johnson Jr. will be performing the athletic
field maintenance. Mary worked for many years
with the City of Anoka doing the same type of ball
field maintenance. Mary has a direct
communication link with the field users and
therefore will have a good handle on the field
maintenance needs and requests.
An increase in adult league team fees will pay for •
all the field maintenance during the summer.
Maintenance for adult softball league fields will
include dragging and lining for each game.
Maintenance for neighborhood parks used by in-
house recreation programs, MVAA and LLLL will
include twice a week dragging and occasional foul
line painting. The Greenfield Baseball Field will
be prepared and maintained by the users, with
twice a week dragging on the infield and warning
track.
In conclusion, adult softball fees will be
subsidizing the field maintenance of all the youth
programs including in-house, MVAA and LLLL.
SUBSIDIES: The Mounds View Lion's Club has provided a subsidy
of $5, 000.00 for the summer playground program for
youth 1-5th grades. This contribution will enable
a fee of $15. 00 for two times a week program
lasting six weeks. This is the same cost as last
year, with half the service decreasing in days
from 5 days a week to 2 days a week per
registration.
The "Butterflies are Free" program will be offered 410
