PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br /> + We were notified that the Rice Creek Watershed District will be <br /> hearing our request to place a culvert at one of the Judicial Ditches <br /> at Greenfield Park. This will allow maintenance equipment access to <br /> the trail between the ditches, which are currently traversed by <br /> bridges. Maintenance equipment have been unable to fit across the <br /> bridge. As soon as the approval is granted, we will begin to <br /> complete this culvert project. <br /> ♦ Silver View Park culvert work will hopefully begin next week. 6 <br /> received a letter from the culvert company statim that the culvert is <br /> being shipped from Alabama this week sometime. The work is being <br /> done by Rehbein. <br /> ♦ The City of Mounds View is hosting the Regional Senior <br /> Community Center Task Force meeting this week (Wednesday). The <br /> architect will provide more detailed plans for review by the Task <br /> Force. <br /> ♦ The Hustler mower engine was replaced last week at a cost of <br /> $1 ,500.00. The mower is out a few days this week having framework <br /> O done on it. <br /> ♦ The Youth Soccer League coaches clinic is being held this Thursday. <br /> The clinic will follow NYSCA guidelines. <br /> • The City has received payment for the six foot Black Hills Spruce Tree <br /> that was ran over last week at Ardan Park. <br /> ♦ Packets for the regular August Parks and Recreation meeting were <br /> prepared and distributed. The Commission will meet on Thursday, <br /> August 27, 1992 at City Hall. <br /> ♦ The City Newsletter has been completed and is now at the printers <br /> with expectations that they will be in the homes by nextg week. We <br /> - are gearing up for the mass of Fall registrations which will begin as <br /> soon as the Newsletter hits the homes. <br /> • Park athletic fields are being transformed from softball and baseball <br /> • to soccer and football fields for Fall sports. <br />
