Item No. 613 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Pete Szurek — Public Works Superintendent <br />Date: February 24, 2022 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />Maintenance <br />Staff worked on the following items since January, 2022; <br />• Ash tree, down fall and hazard tree removals <br />• Chipping trees and debris <br />• Snow removal from rinks, lots ect. <br />• Rink flooding and sweeping Mon- Fri unless the temps are below zero <br />45 2022 park maintenance planning <br />• Equipment repairs <br />■ Plowing <br />• Splash pad camera installation <br />• Splash pad filters ordered, will install in the spring 2022 <br />• Spring/ Summer turf maintenance planning and scheduling <br />Ordering swing for Silverview Trail, East most swing (installation summer 2022) <br />• Ordering tennis bang boards — installation 2022 <br />• Ordering 2 grills for city hall park — installation 2022 <br />• Compiling quotes for Lambert hockey rink restoration <br />• Building Repairs Groveland HVAC replacement $9,0000 <br />• Supply inventory checks and ordering <br />• Wood chipping faraway 9 and disc golf trails <br />• Stump grinding starting next week <br />• Playground inspection training scheduled for November 2022 -all full time parks workers will <br />be certified (PMT) Playground Maintenance Technicians <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br />• Resident consults <br />• Contractor meets <br />• Disease tree contractor removals on going (should be close to complete 3-4-2022) <br />• Planting plan for 2022 spring <br />Invasive removal 2022 plan <br />• Construction removal planning and evaluations for 2022-23 <br />• All 2022 public land ash removals/ hazard removal are complete <br />11 Page <br />
