Item No. 6B <br /> MEMORANDUM MOUNDS VIEW <br /> PUBLIC WORKS <br /> To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br /> From: Pete Szurek— Public Works Superintendent <br /> Date: May 25th, 2023 <br /> RE: Public Works Staff Report <br /> The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br /> Staff worked on the following items since April 1st, 2023 <br /> Parks Maintenance <br /> • Splash pad preparation- on going <br /> • Greenfield playground removal started 5-24-2023 <br /> • Broadleaf herbicide application to all parks <br /> • Irrigation turn on all 9 systems <br /> • Park building cleaning and Park cleaning <br /> • 4 Aerator installations on Wood Lake <br /> • Ball field game preparations daily <br /> • Athletic line painting weekly <br /> • Sunny Side and Pinewood schools -track painting, 2 times <br /> • New pad lock purchases, for cut locks at Silverview and a lost lock at City Hall <br /> • Batting cage net installed <br /> • Spring litter pick up <br /> • Park parking lot cleaning/ sweeping <br /> • Ramsey County Splash Pad Inspection 5-26-2023 <br /> • Splash Pad opening Friday afternoon <br /> • Weed whipping mowing at all parks <br /> • Park sign wood chipping and weeding <br /> Forestry <br /> Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br /> • Resident phone consults and site visits, daily, several calls on Ash trees and Oak trees <br /> • Contractor meets and calls <br /> • Hazard tree removals <br /> • Started using PLT -Precession Landscape and Tree as the city contractor for most removals for <br /> the next three years <br /> • Following up on stump restorations from winter on going <br /> • Tree watering and chipping <br /> • Small tree pruning/ shaping <br /> • Tree bag removals <br /> The following is the List of Parks and projects / maintenance activities ongoing or planned this year. <br /> Current updates are in black text, and updates from the previous two month period are in grey. <br /> Wage <br />
