Item No. 6B <br /> MEMORANDUM MOUNDS VIEW <br /> PUBLIC WORKS <br /> To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br /> From- Pete Szurek— Public Works Superintendent <br /> Date: September 28th,2023 <br /> RE: Public Works Staff Report <br /> The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br /> Staff worked on the following items since September 1st, 2023 <br /> Parks Maintenance <br /> • Greenfield playground merry go round footing installed <br /> • Park building cleaning and Park cleaning <br /> • Ball field game preparations <br /> • Athletic line painting weekly <br /> • Hazard tree/ Branch removals <br /> • Weed whipping mowing at all parks <br /> • Fall fertilizing and aeration started <br /> • Eagle Scout blue bird house installation project (Dalton Diederich) installs start 9-30 <br /> • Silverview estimated three homeless living in park <br /> • Purchase Eagle Scout bird house supplies and deliver to Dalton <br /> Forestry <br /> Staff worked on the following items this last month <br /> • Resident phone consults and site visits daily, hundreds of calls on Ash trees and Oak trees <br /> • (Right of Way) trees are marked ,numbers are over 70, most have been taken down <br /> • Contractor meets and calls <br /> • Hazard tree/ branch removals <br /> • Over 500 trees marked in the city with disease, Ash was expected, Oak Wilt number were not <br /> expected <br /> • Hazard tree removals: Silverview, Oakwood Park and other areas <br /> 11Page <br />
