RESOLUTION NO.9889 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY AND <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT LABOR SERVICES LOCAL 204 REGARDING HOLIDAY PAY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View entered into a labor agreement with Law <br />Enforcement Labor Services (LELS) representing patrol officers and investigators (Local <br />204), valid from 2023 through the end of 2025; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Labor Agreement, in Article 24, identifies the observed holidays <br />being paid out at one and one-half (1 Y2) times pay; and <br />WHEREAS, the Business Agent for LELS 204 submitted a Memorandum of <br />Understanding requesting to increase wages paid to union members called into work on <br />the following holidays: Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas <br />Day; and <br />WHEREAS, the HR Committee discussed the request and determined all LELS <br />204 Union members working on the four (4) identified holidays should be paid at two (2) <br />times their wage for the scheduled days, not just those who are covering for other Union <br />members; and <br />WHEREAS, working on one of the four (4) identified holidays, the employee must <br />first receive supervisor approval. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby approve the attached Memorandum of Understanding to increase the holiday pay <br />from one and one-half (1 Y2) times holiday pay to two (2) times pay for any police officer <br />or investigator working the following premium holidays: Independence Day, <br />Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, with Supervisor approval. <br />Adopted this 11t" day of March, 2024. <br />strum, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Nyle ikm d, Ci y Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
