. •'fir, <br />Item No: 5.E. <br />Meeting Date: March 11, 2024 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />City Administrator Review: <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resource Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9885, Approving the Hire of Isabel Torres to the Position of <br />Police Officer <br />Introduction: <br />The Police Department has experienced a reduction in staffing due to retirements and council has <br />authorized a recruitment process. <br />Discussion: <br />Staff is conducting a recruitment process for the vacant Police Officer positions. The <br />advertisements were posted on the Minnesota POST Board, the International Association of <br />Chiefs of Police, govjobs.com, multiple colleges for interested alumni, the League of Minnesota <br />Cities, and the City's website and social media. Staff is interviewing qualified candidates as they <br />apply. <br />Isabel Torres was selected to advance in the hiring process. Ms. Torres successfully passed the <br />oral board examination, Chief's interview, physical agility testing, police background investigation, <br />pre -employment physical, and required psychological evaluation.
