Mounds View City Council March 11, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 10 <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause commented on the dead trees that had been removed from within <br />Silver View Park. He thanked the Public Works Department for their efforts. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom stated on Wednesday, March 13 he would be having a conversation with the <br />City Administrator and Commissioner Frethem to discuss the City’s library. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom explained the options committee would be meeting on Wednesday, March 20. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom reported he would be attending the Met Council’s regional conference on Friday, <br />March 22. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Finance Director Bauman stated the $21 million conduit debt issuance that began last year would <br />be moving ahead in the next few months. <br /> <br />Finance Director Bauman reported work continues on the 2023 audit. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson discussed the meter change out project that <br />would begin in the coming weeks. He encouraged residents to test out their shut off valves and to <br />clear the area surrounding their water meters. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated the City would be posting information regarding sewer line <br />insurance, noting the City has no association with these organizations. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund reported the Council tried to attend the legislative day on the hill for <br />the League of Minnesota Hills where a letter was presented to Representative Muller and Senator <br />Marty on the missing in the middle bill. He commented this bill would allow property owners to <br />put up to 10 houses on a Mounds View lot and prohibits any public comment. He indicated this <br />was a far reaching bill and noted Representative Muller would be opposing this bill. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund explained the water efficiency grant was submitted by City staff. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund discussed the police and fire training that would be conducted at the <br />two houses owned by the City. <br /> <br />10.
