EDC Minutes <br />January 19, 2023 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />The Commission, by consensus agreed to a list of possible topics that could be <br />considered for 2023. Those topics include: 1. Storewater study & HOPPs program <br />update, 2. Community Center expansion & Blaine Sports Center representative update, <br />and 3. A discussion around Mounds View Boulevard and its redevelopment <br />opportunities. <br /> <br />6. REPORTS OF STAFF <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman provided an update on approximately a dozen <br />projects happening within the city and informed the Commission of the upcoming March <br />8 Mounds View Business Council meeting starting at 8:00 a.m. at the Mounds View <br />Community Center. The Commission suggested that maybe the potential Mounds View <br />Square redevelopment study could include an option where City Hall would relocate to <br />Mounds View Square in a similar situation like the City of Columbia Heights has done <br />and/or moving Kusina Filipino Village and coming up with a similar concept to the Asian <br />Market in Edina. <br /> <br />7. REPORTS OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Council Member Meehlhause provided an update on the potential Community Center <br />expansion. <br /> <br />8. REPORTS OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Commissioner Helgemoe encouraged the EDC to attend the upcoming Twin Cities North <br />Chamber of Commerce Gala. <br /> <br />9. NEXT REGULAR EDC MEETING <br />Chair Freichels reminded the Commission that the next meeting will be held February <br />16, 2023. <br /> <br />11.
