Parks and Recreation Minutes <br />Page 2 <br />• June 4, 1981 <br />• CHAIRMAN'S REPORT Chairperson Burmiester reported that he had observed the <br />City Forester moving a number of tree and asked staff <br />how it was working. Staff responded that we had trans- <br />planted 14 trees to date and had received a number of <br />requests for additional donations which will be trans- <br />planted in the fall. Staff further added that two of <br />the trees transplanted were a 10' Blue Spruce and an 8' <br />Norway Pine which were a welcome additions. <br />LAKESIDE PARK Commissioner Bowman provided some background information <br />on the states of Lakeside Park. A copy of the joint <br />powers agreement drafted by staff was distributed and <br />Commissioner Bowman outlined the beaches progress to <br />date. <br />Staff added that the beach opened to the public on May <br />30, 1981 and Cindy Johnson had been hired as the water- <br />front director. Staff further indicated that there had <br />been no problem to date. <br />SILVER VIEW PARK Director Anderson gave a brief update as to the program <br />that had been made to date regarding Silver View and <br />then introduced Consultant Gary Tushie who discussed <br />the plans and specifications for Phase One development. <br />Consultant Tushie outlined in detail the planning process <br />entailed in the development of the specifications and <br />related maps. Commission relating to the plan and the <br />proposed timeline. <br />Staff indicated that the timing was poor as the proposed <br />plans called for cutting 43,000 cubic yards of material <br />from the Southern edge of the property and than filling <br />the north end of the property. The Southern "hole" <br />• would then be filled with dredged material from the pool. <br />
