. -3- <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Long to direct <br /> staff to work out a five year plan for <br /> • Lakeside Park to be submitted to the Mounds <br /> View and Spring Lake Park Park and <br /> Recreation Commissions . Motion passed <br /> unanimously: 4 ayes , 0 nayes . <br /> STAFF REPORT Staff distributed worklists that have been <br /> issued regarding park preparation for the <br /> winter skating season. <br /> ADDITIONAL BUSINESS After the regular agenda was completed, the <br /> Commissioners expressed the following <br /> concerns and/or wishes: <br /> 1 . Chairperson Burmeister reiterated his <br /> feelings that a new sandlot volleyball <br /> court is a high priority for the Lakeside <br /> Park Beach. <br /> 2 . Commissioner Long stated that he felt <br /> there should be more recreational <br /> activities available at Silver View Park. <br /> Staff stated that this winter, we will be <br /> concentrating on establishing a well- <br /> groomed cross country trail at Silver <br /> View Park. <br /> • 3 . The Commission directed staff to send <br /> letters to owners of property abutting <br /> City park property, along with a copy of <br /> Resolution 2067 relating to the policy on <br /> encroachment by residential property <br /> owners on park lands . <br /> 4 . Staff explained the memorandum she wrote <br /> relating to usage of gymnasium space in <br /> the School District. In regards to the <br /> memorandum, a motion was made by <br /> Commissioner Silvis , seconded by <br /> Commissioner Wuori to adopt staff' s <br /> recommendation on gymnasium space usage <br /> and to encourage the Irondale Basketball <br /> Association to schedule earlier practice <br /> and game times for the younger children. <br /> The motion passed unanimously: 4 ayes, 0 <br /> nayes . <br /> ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Commissioner Long, <br /> seconded by Commissioner Silvis to adjourn <br /> the meeting at 9: 10 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Wary Sar ion Director <br /> Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br /> MS/sll <br />
