-2- <br /> JLN PARK DEDICATION FEE The City Council requested that the Park <br /> Commission make a recommendation regarding <br /> the JLN Development park dedication fee as to <br /> • whether or not a cash or land dedication be <br /> requested. <br /> Chairperson Burmeister moved to request a <br /> monetary park dedication fee. The motion was <br /> seconded by Commissioner Long. The motion <br /> passed unanimously: 4 ayes , 0 nayes . <br /> Also relating to the JLN Development, <br /> a motion was made by Commissioner Silvis , <br /> seconded by Commissioner Long, to direct <br /> staff to investigate the possibilities of <br /> of easements as related to parks , paths or <br /> sidewalks with the JLN Development . The <br /> motion passed unaminously: 4 ayes, 0 Hayes <br /> RED OAK SUB-DIVISION <br /> EASEMENT The Red Oak School property <br /> rhas <br /> been sold to <br /> G1 <br /> a contractor who plans to build single <br /> family homes . It has been brought to the <br /> City' s attention that the contractor may be <br /> requested to build an easement walkway or <br /> bikepath leading from the north side of the <br /> cul de sac leading to the Abiding Savior <br /> Church parking lot . It was decided by the <br /> Commission that since the easement would not <br /> • have a relationship to any park or recreation <br /> facility, that it is not a park issue. <br /> DISCUSSION OF The Commission was joined by Spring Lake Park <br /> LAKESIDE PARK BEACH Park and Recreation Commission Chairperson <br /> Gordy Kurrila and Parks and Recreation <br /> Director Jay McCluskey for a discussion on <br /> the Lakeside Park Beach. <br /> Aquatics supervisor Rechtzigel reported on <br /> the summer beach program. Following his <br /> report, a discussion ensued regarding <br /> additional monies needed for the operation of <br /> the beach. It was agreed upon by both <br /> Commissions that the respective Chairpersons <br /> would request additional funds for the <br /> 1987 beach operations with both cities to <br /> request an additional $1 , 200 for the 1987 <br /> season and a request of $10 , 500 for each <br /> following year. The Commissions requested <br /> the Aquatics Supervisor Rechtzigel submit a <br /> five year plan, and check into the <br /> possibilties of charging a gate fee. <br /> Suggestions were made for improvement of the <br /> Lakeside Park and Beach area including the <br /> • addition of a sandlot volleyball court, new <br /> buoys, new lifeguard chairs and repair or <br /> replacement of the slide . <br />
