-2- <br /> WOODCREST PARK <br /> CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS Director Saarion advised the Commission that the <br /> population in the Woodcrest. Park area was changing <br /> • to include many families with young children. <br /> Woodcrest Park currently does not have facilities <br /> for these young children and the equipment that is <br /> available in the Park and needs replacement. <br /> Director Saarion went on to state that there is <br /> $20,000 available, from the re-organization of the <br /> department, which she felt could be used for <br /> improvements of Woodcrest Park. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Wuori , seconded by <br /> Commissioner Silvis to direct staff to check into <br /> tot lot equipment for Woodcrest Park and to earmark <br /> the $20,000 available from the re-organization of <br /> the Parks and Recreation Department to be used at <br /> Woodcrest Park. The motion passed unanimously; 4 <br /> ayes, 0 nays. <br /> A motion was made by Chairperson Burmeister, <br /> seconded by Commission Long to request the City <br /> Council to use sewer and water management fund <br /> monies to complete the drainage ditch along <br /> Woodcrest Park. The motion passed unanimously; 4 <br /> ayes, 0 nays. <br /> Commissioner Wuori suggested using the fill from the <br /> • drainage ditches at Woodcrest in the regrading <br /> process at Woodcrest Park. <br /> The Commission also suggested that a pathway be <br /> developed from Woodcrest to County Road H2 to give <br /> better access and connect to Silver View Park. <br /> STAFF REPORT Director Saarion reviewed the following issues with <br /> the Commission: <br /> 1. Re-organization of the Park and Recreation <br /> Department. <br /> 2. Use of Tim Ramacher's snowmobile for tracking <br /> the cross ski trails at Silver View Park. <br /> 3. Plowing of the parking lot at Silver View Park <br /> by Ramsey County. <br /> 4. Security lighting at parks. <br /> 5. Night flooding of rinks. <br /> 6. Need for a dock system for traveling between <br /> shelter buildings to skating rinks. <br /> 1110 <br />
