k, <br />questions or problems with these changes. <br />GIFTS CATALOGUE Staff reported on a "gifts catalogue" concept as a <br />way of raising additional funds for park amenities. <br />The Commission was receptive to the idea and <br />requested examples of gifts catalogues to review at a <br />future meeting. <br />PARK DEDICATION <br />FEES FOR EVEREST PHASE III Staff distributed the schedule for park dedication fees <br />for land sub -divisions. The schedule calls for a fee <br />of 10 percent of the appraised property value for <br />development projects. The Commission discussed <br />options and unanimously recommended asking no <br />less than the 10 percent of the land property value <br />as the fee schedule indicates. <br />Commissioner Silvis made the motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Long to recommend that the Park <br />Dedication Fee for the sub -division of the Everest <br />Phase III development equal 10 percent of the <br />property value. Motion passed unanimously: 6 ayes, <br />0 nayes. <br />CELEBRATE MN CELEBRATION A special activity for the celebration of the new <br />Silver View Park picnic shelter is required as a part <br />of the Celebrate MN grant project. Staff asked the <br />Commission to brainstorm ideas so that Chairperson <br />Burmeister can discuss possibilities with Mayor <br />Hankner at Mayor Hanknees request. <br />The ideas include: <br />Major Theme: Silver View Park clean-up day with a <br />hot dog picnic lunch for all participants in mid-June. <br />Activities: Treasure hunt, orienteering, nature hike - <br />educational stations, scavenger hunt, park <br />information/education program. <br />Dedication: Give a dedication to the Mounds View <br />and New Brighton Eagles Clubs. <br />Donations: Give away tree seedlings to participants, <br />request money or food from local vendors, purchase <br />and give away "Celebrate MN" souvenirs. <br />
