will schedule a 5:00 p.m. meeting with the Council, <br />Task Force and Park and Recreation Commission to <br />be held at an agenda session following the final Task <br />Force meeting. <br />Commissioner Trettel suggested that the master plan <br />be submitted with a narrative stated that the plan is <br />subject to change. <br />GIFTS CATALOG Director Saarion reviewed a list of 25 items which <br />the Commission had requested and asked for any <br />additions or revisions. The Commissioners suggested <br />the following changes: <br />1. Large B & B tree - $400.00 <br />2. Bocce Ball set <br />3. Bingo set <br />4. Popcorn machine <br />5. Drinking fountain <br />6. Play structure - $10 - $16,000.00 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Starr, <br />seconded by Commissioner Silvis to direct staff to <br />revise the Gift Catalog and prepare for review by the <br />Commission at the next meeting. Motion passed: 6 <br />ayes, 0 nayes. <br />OLD BUSINESS A. Transportation Vehicle Grant - Director Saarion <br />reported that the portions of the grant have been <br />submitted with no rejections to date. <br />B. Greenfield Park Baseball Field - Councilmember <br />Quick reported that the MVAA is actively <br />pursuing funds for the improvements at <br />Greenfield Park. To date they have a $500 <br />donation from Kraus Hartig VFW. <br />C. Ice Skating, Statistics - Director Saarion stated <br />that new hours should be considered for the <br />skating rinks for the 1990-91 season. It was <br />suggested that because children start appearing at <br />the rinks at 3:30 p.m., that the rink hours be <br />changed to 3:30 - 8:30 p.m. Commissioner <br />Stevenson requested that games and activities be <br />available at rink houses for children. Discussion <br />regarding cost of such a teen center type program <br />and the issue of integrating skaters and activity <br />participants ensued. Commissioner Starr <br />suggested that rather than have programs at all <br />the rinks, that a "pilot" program be tried at just <br />one park for the next winter. <br />4 <br />
