(B) Vacancies will be filled using the same process as the original appointment and <br />appointees will serve the remainder of the unexpired term. <br />(C) The Appointing Authority may make appointments it determines, in its sole discretion, <br />are in the best interest of the City. <br />(D) An appointment is not effective until the appointee takes an oath that they will faithfully <br />discharge the duties of the appointed position. <br />§ 33.107 VACANCIES <br />Vacancies may occur on a City Commission for the following reasons: <br />(A) Resignations. Commissioners may resign their appointed position prior to the expiration <br />of their term by giving written notice to the City Commission's chair. The Chair is <br />responsible for communicating the resignation to the other commissioners and the City <br />Council or Economic Development Authority. <br />(B) Removal — Commission Vote. Commissioners may be removed from office by an <br />affirmative vote of four -fifths of the City Council or Economic Development Authority. <br />(C) Removal — Absence. A Commissioner who is absent from meetings as described below, <br />maybe removed by a majority vote of the Appointing Authority: <br />(1) Planning and Zoning Commission — Absent from twenty regularly scheduled <br />meetings per year without the consent of the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />(2) Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission — Absent from nine regularly <br />scheduled meetings per year. <br />(3) Economic Development Commission — Absent from three consecutive meetings, <br />or from five meetings in a calendar year. <br />SECTION 5.
