Mounds View City Council May 28, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 8 <br />1 Council Member Gunn reported the Cable Commission will not meet in June, but would be <br />2 meeting in July. <br />3 <br />4 Council Member Clark explained she finished her orientation this past month and has learned a <br />5 great deal about serving as a City Council Member. She thanked staff for all of their time. <br />6 <br />7 Council Member Clark reported there would be a city-wide garage sale in Mounds View this <br />8 weekend, May 30 through June 2. She stated an interactive map was available online. <br />9 <br />10 Council Member Clark stated Festival in the Park would be held on Friday, August 16 and <br />1 1 Saturday, August 17. She explained volunteers were still needed for this event. She indicated the <br />12 Festival in the Park Committee would meet next on Tuesday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Public <br />13 Works Facility. <br />14 <br />15 Council Member Clark commented on a community gardening opportunity that was being hosted <br />16 by Pinewood Elementary. She reported the PTA at Pinewood Elementary was seeking volunteers <br />17 at this time. <br />18 <br />19 Council Member Cermak stated the Mounds View Police Foundation would be hosting a <br />20 fundraiser and bake sale at Pink Flower on Wednesday, June 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. She <br />21 noted the Mounds View Police Foundation would meet next on Tuesday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. at <br />22 Hodges Park. <br />23 <br />24 Mayor Lindstrom explained he attended a North Metro Mayors meeting and stated the Election <br />25 Day holiday was discussed. He commented he also talked to 621 noting mock elections were held <br />26 for students. He indicated he reached out to a Met Council representative to see if they were <br />27 interested in provided a mobility vehicle to assist with getting residents to the polls on election <br />28 day. <br />29 <br />30 Mayor Lindstrom stated a joint Council meeting would be held with Arden Hills in June to discuss <br />31 partnering on recreation programming. <br />32 <br />33 Mayor Lindstrom indicated he would be reaching out to the president of Allina to see if a minute <br />34 clinic could be located in Mounds View. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor Lindstrom explained he spoke to the Anoka City Council regarding the City's experience <br />37 with organized collection last week. <br />38 <br />39 Mayor Lindstrom reported on Wednesday, May 29 he would have the honor of attending a Board <br />40 of Pardon Hearing. <br />41 <br />42 Mayor Lindstrom commented he had contact with the Mermaid regarding where the mermaid was <br />43 housed. It appears the Mermaid wanted to see her back on the skyline in Mounds View. He <br />44 understood the mermaid needed a paint job, a new concrete pad and pole structure. <br />45 <br />46 Acting Mayor Meehlhause wished Mayor Lindstrom a happy birthday. <br />
