Mounds View City Council May 28, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br />1 public transportation. Mr. Olson stated this was a good question for the Met Council. He <br />2 commented on how ridership was picking up for the Blue Line and Green Line. <br />3 <br />4 Acting Mayor Meehlhause thanked Mr. Olson for his presentation. <br />5 <br />6 7. PUBLIC COMMENT <br />7 <br />8 Sharon Kirscher, 8406 Red Oak Drive, commented on the forum that was held regarding Mercy <br />9 and Unity Hospitals. She requested the City take an active role in what's happening at these <br />10 hospitals because the changes would greatly impact Mounds View residents. <br />11 <br />12 8. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />13 A. Resolution 9926, Authorization to Repair a Storm Sewer on Lois Drive. <br />14 <br />15 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council authorize the repair <br />16 of storm sewer on Lois Drive. He explained over the last several months staff has explored storm <br />17 sewer repairs that were needed along Lois Drive. He reported the pipe has rusted out and needs to <br />18 be replaced. He indicated staff requested bids for the project. Staff reviewed the cost for the repairs <br />19 and recommended the Council move forward with the project. <br />20 <br />21 Council Member Gunn requested staff update the bid amounts within the fourth whereas statement <br />22 within the Resolution. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson explained he would <br />23 update the bid amounts. <br />24 <br />25 Mayor Lindstrom thanked staff for their efforts to receive bids for the tree removal. <br />26 <br />27 City Administrator Zikmund asked if this was one of the largest culverts in the City. Public <br />28 Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported this was a very large culvert. <br />29 <br />30 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Cermak. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9926, <br />31 Authorization to Repair a Storm Sewer on Lois Drive as amended. <br />32 <br />33 A roll call vote was taken. <br />34 <br />35 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />36 <br />37 B. Community Engagement Committee — Update by Mayor Lindstrom. <br />38 <br />39 Mayor Lindstrom stated the Community Engagement Committee was back in action and has a <br />40 plan to hold an event on Saturday, June 22 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. He reported the group <br />41 would be chaired by Andre Koen and Shauna Bock. He explained applications would be taken <br />42 from other members of the community in the future. <br />43 <br />44 Council Member Clark commented further on the Juneteenth community engagement celebration <br />45 that would be held at the Community Center on Saturday, June 22. She stated there would be <br />46 music, bounce houses and ice cream for all in attendance. <br />
