MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> • PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> April 23 , 1992 <br /> 6: 30 p.m. <br /> Council Chambers <br /> CALL TO <br /> ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6: 32 p.m. by <br /> Chairperson Burmeister. <br /> ROLL CALL: Commissioners present: Chairperson Burmeister, <br /> Commissioners Long, Silvis, Trettel, Dentz, and <br /> Starr. Councilmember Wuori was also present along <br /> with Director Saarion. <br /> MINUTES: Commissioner Silvis made a motion, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Long to approve the minutes of March <br /> 26, 1992 . Motion passed, 6 ayes, 0 nayes. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> REPORT: Councilmember Wuori informed the Commission of the <br /> . Family Violence, Community Leadership Forum held <br /> Thursday, May 21, 1992 . <br /> MVCT: Commissioner Silvis reported that the positions • <br /> were filled for the choreographer, music director <br /> and lighting and stage manager. The scripts are <br /> in and a meeting of the board will be held on <br /> Tuesday, April 28, 1992 . <br /> LAKESIDE PARK <br /> UPDATE: Director Saarion reported that the beach would be <br /> open on Saturday, June 20 and close Sunday, August <br /> 2 , 1992 . Lifeguards are currently being <br /> recruited. A joint Water Carnival Day is being <br /> planned by SLP and MV summer playground programs. <br /> Activities at the park include sandlot VB, <br /> softball, picnicing, beach activity and water <br /> equipment rentals. <br /> RSCC: Director Saarion reported that the RSCC Task Force <br /> is still going strong. Meetings have continued on <br /> the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. <br /> TAG: Director Saarion reviewed the draft Trailways <br /> proposal as prepared by the Trailways Advocacy <br /> Group. The group will present their proposal to <br /> the City Council at the May Work Session. <br />
