MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> • STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> June 26, 1992 <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> Council Chambers <br /> CALL TO <br /> ORDER: Chairperson Burmeister called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL: Commissioners present: Chairperson Burmeister, Commissioners <br /> Silvis, Stevenson, Trettel and Starr. <br /> Commissioners absent: Commissioners Dentz and Long. <br /> Staff present: Director Saarion <br /> MINUTES: Commissioner Silvis made a motion seconded by Commissioner <br /> Stevenson to approve the May 28, 1992 minutes. Motion passed, 5 <br /> ayes, 0 nays. <br /> CHAIR RPT: None <br /> COUNCIL RPT: None <br /> • PARK MAINT. <br /> RE-ORG.: Staff reported that park maintenance responsibilities were being <br /> given to the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department. Staff had <br /> work tasks on a schedule for review. Staff requested Commission <br /> input and advice regarding the maintenance goals and objectives. <br /> Commissioners added suggestions for individual park maintenance <br /> tasks which staff will add to the weekly task list. <br /> The Commission requested a time to meet with the maintenance <br /> crew to be introduced and welcome them as part of the department. <br /> MVAA <br /> TOURNAMENT: Staff reported that the MVAA was awarded the Regional <br /> Tournament for 12-13 year olds. This is quite an honor because the <br /> facilities must be of good caliber to meet the criteria for such a <br /> tournament. They hope to pass the test and bid for the State <br /> tournament in 1993. <br /> PARK <br /> PROJECTS: Director Saarion reported on the various park projects either <br /> completed or in planning. The Eagle Scout candidate Peter Szurek <br /> completed the painting project on Woodcrest Park building. Eagle <br /> • Scout candidate Bryan Rife will be working on the landscaping <br /> project for the horseshoe courts at Silver View Park in the month of <br /> July. Another Eagle Scout candidate Troy Griebe will be working <br /> on Lambert Park play area landscaping. <br />
