ti <br /> MOUNDS VIEW PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RAIISEY COUNTY <br /> MINUTES <br /> Thursday, June 27, 1996 <br /> 6:30 p.m., Conf. Rm. C., City Hall <br /> CALL TO <br /> ORDER: Commissioner Silvis called the meeting to order. <br /> ROLL CALL: Commissioners present included Silvis, Gunn, Dentz, Stevenson, and <br /> Burmeister. Council Member Trude and staff members Saarion, Burke and <br /> Singleton were also present. <br /> APPROVAL <br /> • OF MINUTES: Minutes of May 23, 1996 meeting were unanimously approved. <br /> INTERN <br /> INTRODUCTIONS: Director Saarion introduced summer interns Margaret Burke and Andy <br /> Singleton. They shared a little of their experiences, education and <br /> internship responsibilities. <br /> CAPITAL <br /> IMPROVEMENT <br /> REVIEW: Director Saarion requested the Commission to look at the five year long <br /> term financial plan before it is submitted to the City Council. Items were <br /> listed to reflect the goals and objectives of the Commission. Athletic field <br /> fencing for safety has been listed for 1997, 1998 and 1999. Also included <br /> is the garden shack for Woodcrest Park. The Commission wanted to make <br /> sure that picnic tables were included in capital purchases as replacement for <br /> older ones and also to provide more picnic tables for use especially at City <br /> Hall and Silver View Park. After reviewing the LTFP, Commissioner <br /> Silvis made a motion seconded by Commissioner Burmeister to approve <br /> the LTFP - to be forwarded to the City Council for review. The motion <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> PROGRAM <br /> • REVIEW: Director Saarion reported on several special events and activities that are <br /> upcoming including the AAU Regional Baseball Tournament at Silver <br /> View Park, the Festival in the Park, and the MVCT production "Annie". <br />
