3. Selection of a Parks and Recreation Commission Secretary <br />Tracy Juell no longer wants to perform the secretarial duties for the Commission. <br />Kroeger made a motion to designate Greg Lee and / or Steve Dazenski as secretary for <br />the Commission. <br />Mandoza 2"d the motion <br />Disscussion: None <br />Motion passed unanimously <br />4. Unfinished Business: <br />a.) Skate Park Project <br />• There is nothing new to discuss regarding the skate park. <br />• This was presented to Council at the April 7, 2003 Work Session. <br />• The next time this gets brought up will need to be done by motion. <br />• Commissioners wanted to perform a thorough review of the parks budget. <br />• Staff has not received any additional feed back since the update was presented to <br />the City Council on April 7, 2003. <br />b.) Chapter 405 of City Code <br />• Recommended changes made by the Commissioners <br />• Presented to Council at the April 7, 2003 Work Session. <br />• This will be presented to Council on April 28, 2003 for first reading and again on <br />May 12`x' for second reading and approval. <br />• Kroeger questioned Section 405.09 Subdivision 9 where it states "bath houses". It <br />was confirmed that this meant the facilities at Lakeside Park. <br />• Kroeger confirmed that "Forestry" was added to the title <br />• Edmond inquired as to how often this code is revised and what prompted this <br />proposed revisions. <br />c.) Community Survey: <br />• Presented to Council at the April 7, 2003 Work Session. <br />• On hold until City determines what funding level the State will be providing. <br />• Previous survey was performed in 1988. <br />• Kroeger summarized the steps that got the Commission to the point of developing <br />these questions. The general purpose is to determine what the residents want so <br />the Commissioners can make good decisions. <br />• Council requested other Commissions (Planning, Cable...) to develop their set of <br />questions. <br />• Staff will bring this issue before the City Council after the State Budget and <br />impacts to the City's budget is known. <br />• Kroeger gave an assignment for the Commissioners to take one more look at the <br />questions to ensure they are posed in such a manor as to get the necessary <br />information back to make good decisions. <br />• Edmond had a question as to the process of including other Commissions <br />questions <br />• Each Commission and City Department will submit their own questions. <br />
