3. Selection of a Parks and Recreation Commission Secretary Tracy Juell no longer wants to perform the secretarial duties for the Commission. Kroeger made a motion to designate Greg Lee and / or Steve Dazenski as secretary for the Commission. Mandoza 2"d the motion Disscussion: None Motion passed unanimously 4. Unfinished Business: a.) Skate Park Project • There is nothing new to discuss regarding the skate park. • This was presented to Council at the April 7, 2003 Work Session. • The next time this gets brought up will need to be done by motion. • Commissioners wanted to perform a thorough review of the parks budget. • Staff has not received any additional feed back since the update was presented to the City Council on April 7, 2003. b.) Chapter 405 of City Code • Recommended changes made by the Commissioners • Presented to Council at the April 7, 2003 Work Session. • This will be presented to Council on April 28, 2003 for first reading and again on May 12`x' for second reading and approval. • Kroeger questioned Section 405.09 Subdivision 9 where it states "bath houses". It was confirmed that this meant the facilities at Lakeside Park. • Kroeger confirmed that "Forestry" was added to the title • Edmond inquired as to how often this code is revised and what prompted this proposed revisions. c.) Community Survey: • Presented to Council at the April 7, 2003 Work Session. • On hold until City determines what funding level the State will be providing. • Previous survey was performed in 1988. • Kroeger summarized the steps that got the Commission to the point of developing these questions. The general purpose is to determine what the residents want so the Commissioners can make good decisions. • Council requested other Commissions (Planning, Cable...) to develop their set of questions. • Staff will bring this issue before the City Council after the State Budget and impacts to the City's budget is known. • Kroeger gave an assignment for the Commissioners to take one more look at the questions to ensure they are posed in such a manor as to get the necessary information back to make good decisions. • Edmond had a question as to the process of including other Commissions questions • Each Commission and City Department will submit their own questions.
