Parks and Recreation Facility Guide. A consultant to set up the brochure has not <br />been selected as of yet. The layout of the brochure will be reviewed by the Park <br />and Recreation Commissioners <br />• There is no status of the layout. <br />• No Date or schedule for developing the guide at this point. <br />• Kroeger want to keep this on under unfinished business. <br />Commissioner Seat — Four applications were received prior to the Monday, <br />September 22nd deadline. These were delivered to the Mayor for review and <br />recommendation. It is anticipated that the appointment of a new Commissioner <br />will go to the City Council on October 13d' Chair and Vice chair <br />recommendations will also be appointed on this date. <br />• Commissioners recommended chairperson and vice -chairperson <br />are not official until October 13, 2003. <br />Mike Szczepanski — On September 22, 2003, Council approved a resolution <br />recognizing Mike for his years of service as a Park and Recreation Connnissioner. <br />It is anticipated that the framed resolution will be presented to Mike on October 6, <br />2003. <br />• Kroeger will also try to contact Mr. Szczepanski. <br />Staff has posed the issue raise at the August meeting as to whether the City can <br />post City parks "No Smoking". The City's legal Counsel has not responded as of <br />yet. <br />The Commissioners Appreciation Dinner has been set for Thursday October 16, <br />2003. <br />Lee and Danzenski will not be present at the next meeting in October. <br />Grants — <br />Edmond obtained information regarding grants at the Anoka <br />County Library. <br />St. Paul Police has been successful in obtaining grants. Possible <br />resource for the City. <br />• Commissioners to read over the material in the next few weeks. <br />• For City grants, the department that benefits the most from that <br />grant administrates the grant. <br />Dana Mandoza will be working on collecting more data regarding park usage. <br />Executive Meeting with the YMCA — What is the status? Kurt Ulrich the new <br />City Administrator will be setting up the next meeting. <br />
