Item No. 7B <br /> MEMORANDUM MOUNDS VILW <br /> PUBLIC WORK S <br /> To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br /> From: Pete Szurek — Public Works Superintendent <br /> Date: August 23th, 2023 <br /> RE: Public Works Staff Report <br /> The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br /> Staff worked on the following items since August 1st, 2023 <br /> Parks Maintenance <br /> • Splash pad repairs and checks (two fulltime workers daily 1 or more hours) <br /> • Greenfield playground land scape (re- seed needed) <br /> • Park building cleaning and Park cleaning <br /> • Ball field game preparations less than previous months <br /> • Athletic line painting weekly <br /> • Hazard tree/ Branch removals <br /> • Weed whipping mowing at all parks <br /> • Playground certified wood chipping at (Hillview, City Hall, Random, Groveland and <br /> Woodcrest playgrounds) <br /> • Wasp spraying CH , MVCC and Silverview <br /> • Festival in the Park preparation and clean up most of the crew 4 days <br /> • Mower repairs <br /> • Weed spraying at several park locations <br /> • Eagle Scout blue bird house installation project planning <br /> Forestry <br /> Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br /> • Resident phone consults and site visits daily, several calls on Ash trees and Oak trees <br /> • Marking (Right of Way) trees for removal ,numbers are over 60 and growing <br /> • Contractor meets and calls <br /> • Hazard tree/ branch removals <br /> • Storm clean up <br /> • SV Pond East buck thorn removal and restoration <br /> • Tree watering (weekly) <br /> • Trail trimming <br /> • Tree chipping <br /> • Small tree pruning/ shaping <br /> 1iPage <br />
