(b) Any naturally wild member of the canine family (family canidae) including wolves, foxes, <br />coyotes, dingoes and jackals, excluding domesticated dogs; <br />(c) Any crossbreeds of wild animals and domestic animals such as the crossbreed between a <br />wolf and a dog, unless the crossbreed is commonly accepted as a domesticated house pet; <br />(d) Any member or relative of the rodent family including any skunk (whether or not descented), <br />raccoon or squirrel, but excluding those members otherwise defined or commonly accepted as <br />domesticated pets; <br />(e) Any poisonous, venomous or inherently dangerous member of the reptile family, including <br />rattlesnakes, pit vipers and amphibians such as crocodiles and alligators; and <br />(f) Any other animal which is not explicitly listed above, but which can be reasonably defined by <br />the terms of this section, including, but not limited to, bears, deer and game fish. <br />AT LARGE. Off the premises of the owner and not under the custody and control of the owner or <br />other person, either by leash, cord or chained. <br />CITY. Area within the corporate limits of the City of Mounds View, Minnesota. <br />DOG. Canines which are domestic animals. <br />DOG KENNEL. <br />(1) COMMERCIAL. Any premises where more than four dogs over six months of age are owned, <br />boarded, bred, kept or harbored. <br />(2) RESIDENTIAL. Any premises where three or four dogs over six months of age are owned, <br />boarded, bred, kept or harbored. <br />KEEPING. Providing food, water or shelter for domestic or farm animals. <br />OWNER. Any person, persons, firm, association or corporation owning, keeping or harboring an <br />animal. <br />PRIVATE PROPERTY. All residential premises owned by private individuals, including all structures <br />located thereon, front yards, side yards and backyards. <br />RAISING. The maintaining and breeding as a hobby or as a commercial enterprise any domestic or <br />farm animal. <br />SUBSTANTIAL BODILY HARM. A substantial disfigurement or a substantial loss or impairment of <br />the functions of any bodily member or organ, whether temporary or permanent, or a fracture of any <br />bodily member. <br />VICIOUS ANIMAL. Any animal of a ferocious or vicious character, habit, disposition or any animal <br />which has: <br />(1) Killed or inflicted substantial bodily harm on a human, domestic animal or farm animal without <br />substantial provocation; or <br />(2) Been involved in two or more biting incidents without substantial provocation, involving <br />humans, domestic animals or farm animals, within one year. <br />(Prior Code, § 701.03) (Ord. 696, passed 04-22-2002) <br />§ 90.003 DOGS. <br />(A) Dog at large prohibited. A dog owner violates this section if his or her dog is at large. <br />
