<br />The City submitted a DNR Trailway Grant application for the segment on the south side in between Silver Lake Road and Long Lake Road (segments 9-10) on February 28, 2006. The City will <br /> know if we were successful or not with this grant application in June of this year. <br />A Citywide Open House was held on March 9, 2006. A draft summary is included in the packet. A complete summary will be presented to the City Council on March 27th. <br />A draft Capital Improvement Program (CIP) has been developed for this program. It shows: <br />Segments 9-10, Long Lake Road to Silver Lake Road on the south side being constructed in 2006 <br />Segments 1-5, County Road H to Silver Lake Road on the north side being constructed in 2008 <br />Segment 6, Silver Lake Road to Pleasant View Drive on the north side being constructed in 2009 <br />Segments 7-8, Pleasant View Drive to Silver Lake Road on the south side being constructed in 2010 <br />Segment 11, Edgewood Drive to Woodale Drive on the south side being constructed in 2011(this segment will most likely be more dependent on re-development rather than a set time frame) <br /> <br />The Draft CIP will be presented to the City Council on April 3, 2006. Any comments and suggestions from the Commission are welcomed. Also, as concept plans for segment 9-10 on the south <br /> side in between Silver Lake Road and Long Lake Road develop, staff will bring these to the Commission for review and comment. <br /> <br />Gateway Monuments – On March 6, 2006, the City Council indicated a desire to look into the feasibility and costs associated with constructing the County Road 10 Gateway Monument Signage. <br /> There are three monument signs under consideration–East Entrance, West Entrance, and Civic District Trail Gateway. The City’s consultant will be submitting letter proposal to look into <br /> developing a schematic design for each of these signs. <br /> <br />Facility Guide Update – review current draft <br /> <br />City Property East of Sysco – City Council reviewed this letter report pertaining to the feasibility of developing this site on March 6, 2006. Since funding for this project is dependent <br /> on a substantial contribution from Medtronic, this project will not proceeded without this contribution. Medtronic will have until approximately one year after construction is completed <br /> to decide if they want to contribute to this project (approximately January 1, 2009). Exact date has yet to be determined. No action is expected at this time. <br /> <br />6. New Business: <br /> <br />Silver View Soccer Field Maintenance. <br />The City received a request to not restrict usage of the Silver View Soccer field this spring during the period that it will be rehabilitated. A copy of the request along with Staff’s <br /> response is included in the packet. The person making the request was invited to discuss this at the March 23rd Park and Recreation Meeting. <br /> <br />Open Seats in the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission / Chairperson appointment. <br />On March 13, 2006, the City Council approved the re-appointment of Dale Aukee and the appointment of Thai Vang to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission. The Council also approved <br /> the appointment of John Kroeger as Chairperson. Thai Vang is out of town on Thursday, March 23, 2006. It is anticipated that he will be present on April 27th to take his oath of office. <br /> <br /> <br />Silver Lake Road Sidewalk Project –
