<br />Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Agenda <br />December 21, 2006 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />1. Roll Call <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from the November 16, 2006 meeting. <br /> <br />3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Park and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners <br />on issues of concern. <br /> <br />4. YMCA Update <br /> <br />5. Unfinished Business: <br /> <br />a.) Oakwood Park Proposal <br />Phase I <br />A topographical survey of where the soccer fields are proposed to be located was completed. <br />This information has been sent out to several grading contractor to solicit quotes for grading <br />activities associated with Phase I activities for Oakwood Park. <br /> <br />Quotes for other Phase I items such as irrigation, fencing, and seeding will be submitted to the <br />th <br />Commission on January 25 for review along with the grading quotes. If this project proceeds, <br />construction of Phase I items is planned to commence first thing in the spring of 2007. <br /> <br />Phase II <br />Phase II is the creation of a playground area adjacent to the proposed soccer fields. <br />Staff has developed plan that shows possible playground equipment choices that cover the age <br />group the Parks and Recreation Commission requested - for ages 10 and under with swing set <br />including 2 belts and 2 bucket seats. <br /> <br />Phase III <br />Disc Golf – Information of New Brighton’s disc golf use / demand will be presented at the <br />meeting. Staff is still waiting on receiving a sketch of a possible / proposed course. <br /> <br />b.) T-Mobile’s proposal to construct a building and antenna pole at Groveland Park <br /> <br />The Commission should, make an official motion for options 1 or 2 <br />Option 1 - Is the Parks and Recreation willing pursue the possibility of renting Groveland Park space <br />for the installation of communication equipment and work with T-Mobile to develop a proposal that <br />could be recommended by the Parks and Recreation Commission via an official motion. <br />--OR--- <br />Option 2 - Does the Parks and Recreation Commission reject any and all proposals to rent Groveland <br />Park space for the installation of communication equipment. If so, an official motion should be made by <br />the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
