<br />Meeting with City Council – Annually the Commission meets with the City Council. This has been set for April 2, 2007. A list of topics were developed at the February 22, 2007 meeting. <br /> Any revisions? <br />*Oakwood Park plan <br /> *Improving ball fields <br /> *Attendance on YMCA Advisory Committee with regard to time <br /> *How does the Commission fit in with operation of the MVCC? <br /> *Does the City Council think we should attend more city council meetings? In mass? <br /> *Representative on BBC Committee? <br /> <br />Parks Promotional Video - The City will be creating a promotional video that will be shown on cable TV and at the Town Hall Meeting. Parts of this video have been created. Shots of the <br /> Community Center and the ribbon cutting ceremonies at Groveland and Random parks. Is it possible to review the video and discuss it with Dave Olsen? <br /> <br />Hillview Playground Equipment - The 2007 budget has $38,000 allocated for the replacement of the playground equipment at Hillview Park. The Commissioners were encouraged to visit the <br /> park to determine replacement needs before the March meeting. This could be done on Saturday, March 10 as part of the park building dedication ceremonies. <br /> <br /> <br />6. New Business: <br /> <br />Tree Preservation & Landscaping Ordinance - Community Development is looking for recommendations on the draft ordinance and possibly motion of support. <br /> <br /> <br />7. Commissioner/Staff Reports: <br /> <br />County Road 10 Trailway Project: Segments 9&10 Project Update – Bids for this project were received on February 8, 2007. There were a total of twelve bids received. On February 26, 2007, <br /> the City Council awarded the contract to Jay Bros Incorporated in the amount of $455,270.71 for this project. The City Council also approved Bid Alternate No. 1 for the removal of the <br /> boardwalk bump out area. This will reduce the project cost by $4,350. Work on the boardwalk portion of this project will commence in the next couple weeks. Substantial completion for <br /> this project is set for July1, 2007 with final completion set for October 1, 2007. <br /> <br />County Road 10 Trailway Project: Segments 1 -5 DNR Grant Application – On February 28, 2007, the City submitted grant applications for two Department of Natural Resources grants: Local <br /> Trail Connection Program and Federal Recreational Trail Program. The maximum amount for each of the two grants is $100,000 with a 50% "cash match". Grant awards will be announced in <br /> June 2007. If successful, this would be added to the federal grant the city was previously awarded in the amount of $525,000. <br /> <br />The YMCA Advisory Committee Meeting Update – The committee met on March 5, 2007. Darren and Steve both attended this meeting and can provide an update. <br /> <br />Any Other Reports? <br /> <br />8.
