6. Unfinished Business:
a. Hillview Park parking spaces, per Street and Utilities Committee recommendation.
The City Council is now considering “Option 1” which includes angled parking for 15 spaces (14 with one handicapped open space) in front of the park building, then parallel parking near
the field.
What is the Commission’s position on this regardless of the funding source?
*Residents directly affected did not attend Public Meeting at City Council on Nov. 10th.
*If existing 15 parallel stalls is compromised to add 15 angled stalls, this would increase to 21 stalls.
Minus the 3 stalls for handicap parking which will rarely be used, this totals 18 stall on the north side of Hillview park, a net gain of 3 stalls at a cost of $30K.
*Encourage changing parking to the south side of Hillview Road where there are only two driveways, will add more parking at no cost to the city.
*Hillview is a stagnant park with no increase to amenities, traffic, or usage. People will still park closer to Greenwood Drive both north and south of Hillview Road to be close to
the ball field.
Motion by Aukee. ,2nd by Long that after further discussion and further detailed investigation of the options, dollars, and need with the proposed parking plans, the Commission reaffirms
its original position presented to the City Council. This includes new information from the City Forester regarding potential risk of existing trees. If the City Council still feels
the need to have additional parking at Hillview Park, we strongly encourage the consideration of allowing parking on the south side of Hillview Road. Motion Passed 7-0.
*Commissioner Palm will contact Jim Ericson to see when the City Council will be discussing this again and alert the Commission to attend.

b. Lambert building replacement fast tracked per city tour discussion.
Motion Palm by 2nd by Kroeger to recommend to City Council the accelerated schedule to replace the Lambert Park Building and request a preliminary engineering survey and site
plan at a cost of approximately $10,000 using the existing Groveland Park Building footprint and Park Dedication Funds.
Motion Passed 7-0
c.
