The position was posted internally for five (5) days, and then posted externally. This position <br /> will fill the vacancy created due to internal shifting when Utility Worker Bohmert moved into the Parks <br /> Division. <br /> Discussion: <br /> Staff interviewed several candidates for the position before meeting Mario Terrazas. Mr. Terrazas meets <br /> the requirements for the position and brings four years' experience to the position. The interview panel <br /> found him to be a good fit for the department. <br /> Mr. Terrazas would be a member of the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit. Due to Mr. Terrazas' <br /> previous experience within Public Works, staff requests to treat him as a lateral transfer and begin his wage <br /> at Step 3 of the Labor Contract. Mr. Terrazas would advance to the Step 4 on his one-year anniversary, <br /> with the following step increase occurring on his anniversary dates until he reaches Step 9. Staff and the <br /> HR Committee support Mr. Terrazas joining the Public Works team.
