Item No. 6B <br /> MEMORANDUM MOUNDS VIEW <br /> PUBLIC WORKS <br /> To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br /> • From: Pete Szurek— Public Works Superintendent <br /> Date: June 24,2024 <br /> RE: Public Works Staff Report <br /> The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br /> (2 fulltime Park Workers, Arborist and 4 seasonal workers) worked on the following items since June 1, <br /> 2024; <br /> Parks Maintenance <br /> • Weekly painting of soccer, lacrosse and ball field lines <br /> • Daily Ballfield game preparations <br /> • Splash Pad daily maintenance and county surprise inspection on 6-19 <br /> • Irrigation system and drinking fountain startups (on going) <br /> • Silverview building replacement drinking fountain (installed) <br /> • Mowing — Mowing- Mowing all parks <br /> • Weed whipping all parks <br /> • Mower maintenance <br /> • Started nonselective weed spraying most parks <br /> • Several Irrigation repairs <br /> • Storm cleanup at all parks for most of one week, all parks and trails <br /> • Broadleaf spraying at most parks excluding no spray areas for pollinators <br /> • Forestry <br /> Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br /> • Resident phone consults and site visits, daily <br /> • Contractor meets and calls <br /> • Buck thorn removal <br /> • Hazard removals <br /> • Contracted city tree debris removal (Ramsy County will no longer take city tree debris <br /> • Some park mowing <br /> • Rough cutting buckthorn <br /> • Mulching park trees <br /> • Storm cleanup <br /> • Cleaning land scaping behind city hall <br /> • <br /> 11 ti. _ <br />
