Item No. 6B <br /> MEMORANDUM MOUNDS VIEW <br /> PUBLIC WORKS <br /> To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br /> From: Pete Szurek — Public Works Superintendent <br /> Date: May 21, 2024 <br /> RE: Public Works Staff Report <br /> The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br /> Staff worked on the following items since May 1, 2024. <br /> Parks Maintenance <br /> • Lay out and painting of soccer, lacrosse and ball field lines. <br /> • Ordering summer supplies <br /> • Fertilizing at all parks (Complete) <br /> • Ball field game preparations <br /> • Splash pad start up and county inspection. <br /> • Tree day leadership training for Parks Lead <br /> • Safety training <br /> • Seasonal interviews <br /> • Arbor Day and Earth Day tree planting <br /> • Irrigation system and drinking fountain startups (on going) <br /> • In stall sunshades Greenfield <br /> • Turf restoration front of Community Center <br /> • Leaf removal from tennis courts <br /> • Playground parts and 3 trash cans ordered. <br /> • Silverview building replacement drinking fountain ordered. <br /> • Mowing — Mowing- Mowing <br /> • Mower maintenance <br /> Forestry <br /> Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br /> • Resident phone consults and site visits, daily <br /> • Contractor meets and calls. <br /> • Grinding stumps <br /> • Restoration from winter tree removals <br /> • Removal of girdling roots City Hall trees <br /> • Assisted Lions with removal of plants from Silverview circle garden. <br /> • Planting and cleaning of landscapes at the Public Works building <br /> • Removed fallen tree Woodcrest. <br /> • Red Oak Court planning and bid collection for tree removals. <br /> • Protection for Oak at Silverview <br /> • Removal of hazard trees off trails, Oakwood and Silverview trails <br /> • Transplanting trees from PW shop to Silverview <br /> 1iPage <br />
