RESOLUTION NO. 9975 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING PART-TIME STORMWATER INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION REVISIONS AND AUTHORIZING A RECRUITMENT PROCESS WHEREAS, the City's surface water infrastructure is an ongoing critical issue for our residents and the Public Works Department. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Storm Water rules and regulations continue to evolve and change as new research is completed; and WHEREAS, a part-time Stormwater Assistant position was created in February 2022, however no viable applications were received; and WHEREAS, the job description has been revised with the assistance of the City's consultant DDA Human Resources, Inc. Changes include: a requirement of having a bachelor's degree; grant writing, with the intent of funds received to help fund the position moving forward and increase the position from an internship into a regular full-time position in the future; and, reporting directly to the Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director; and WHEREAS, the Stormwater Intern position was scored by DDA Human Resources, Inc. at a Grade 6 within the City's compensation and classification plan: 2024 - Grade 6 4% 3.75% 3.75% 3.75% 3.5% 3.25% 3% 2.75% Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Ste 9 $31.93 $33.21 $34.46 $35.75 $37.09 $38.39 $39.64 $40.83 $41.95 WHEREAS, staff is requesting authorization to hire one (1) candidate to fill the position at Grade 6, Step 1; and WHEREAS, the Human Resources Committee has had an opportunity to review the job description and supports the revised job description and the request to recruit for the position. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council Approves the Part -Time Stormwater Intern Job Description Revisions and Authorizes a Recruitment Process.
