Staff, working with Stantec, applied for a grant through the State of Minnesota Board of Soil and <br /> Water Resources (BWSR). The City was awarded a grant totaling $230,300.00 for both Ardan and <br /> Silver View Park projects. The Ardan Park grant amount total is $56,430.00. The grant is broken <br /> down for the upland restoration portion of the project at for $37,030.00 and technical assistance of <br /> $19,400.00. <br /> The total cost of the project, if the Council approves the bid alternate of installing the gravel trail <br /> would be $477,223.25. Applying the grant to the project the proposed project total is $420,793.25. <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. Ensure Clean <br /> Water and Maintenance. <br /> Financial Impact: No financial Impact to the 2024 Budget as there is $250,000.00 budgeted for <br /> Storm Water Projects. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Staff recommends the City Council approve the attached resolution accepting the bids and approving <br /> a contract with Winberg Companies LLC of Shaffer MN, at a cost of $457,823.25 (to include bid <br /> alternate 1, gravel trail installation, in the amount of $94,423.50). In addition, Staff recommends <br /> Council approve a contingency of 7% or$32,047.63 for any unforeseen issues that may arise during <br /> the project. Staff further recommends the Council accept the proposal from Stantec for technical <br /> services not to exceed $19,400.00 for a total project cost of$509,270.88, applying the grant amount <br /> of $56,430.00.
