Economic Development Commission The EDC is an advisory commission to the EDA consisting of seven members, (four resident representatives of Mounds View and three business representatives). While the commission doesn’t have the authority to take action, it serves as a sounding board for the EDA. Examples of commission projects are economic development marketing/branding initiatives, brainstorming ideas for redevelopment sites, reviewing financing and economic development policies,hearing from speakers on hearing economic development updates & issues affecting Mounds View, and setting annual priorities as it relates to assisting the EDA’s initiatives. List civic, professional, or community organizations in Mounds View that you are involved with, if any: I have a Master's Degree of Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology. I have 40 years' experience in the telecommunications industry, which includes design and installation of indoor/outdoor copper and fiber cabling systems with the placement of an underground conduit systems. Please list any related work , volunteer and/or educational experiences that could help you in the role of commission member : I hold a State of MN Power Limited Technician license, I was a board member of the State of MN Board of Electricity, Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI)-Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), and coauthor of the current Technology System Contractor and Power Limited Technician Statute language. I was also involved with the Fridley Youth Sports Association for over 15- years. Please list any issues that may cause a conflict of interest between civic responsibility and your personal and/or professional interests: None Briefly describe Mounds View's weaknesses: The lack of land to develop. Briefly describe Mounds View's strengths: City of Mounds View has a business friendly environment and is sensitive to the tax payer. What is your primar y interest in ser ving on the commission(s)? I have been involved with the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce and the Mounds View Business council. Through these organizations I have been impressed with the City of Mounds View's efforts to expand and improve the business climate along with the needs of residents within the City of Mounds View. I would like to use my experience to help the Economic Development Commission provide a positive growth path for the City of Mounds View.
