Page 2 Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector <br />• Knowledge of practices, principles, and techniques of effective code enforcement principles. <br />• Knowledge of the state laws and local authorities as they apply to the position. <br />• Skill in public presentations and negotiation skills. <br />• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the public. <br />• Ability to deal tactfully, confidently, and effectively with all City personnel, outside agencies, and the public, both in <br />person and on the telephone. <br />• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff and the public. <br />• Obtain and keep current all licensures and certificates required for position. <br />• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including co- <br />workers, other departments, other agencies, vendors, and the public. <br />• Ability to pass pre -employment psychological hiring assessment and drug test. <br />• Ability to obtain state certification as a Building Official Limited within one (1) year of employment. <br />• Ability to review and understand complicated plans and blueprints. <br />• Skilled with word processing, spreadsheet and permitting software, digital imaging, and standard office equipment. <br />Persons with disabilities: the above is a general listing of job duties.
