RESOLUTION NO 10046 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZING RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR PUBLIC WORKS <br />ARBORIST/PARKS MAINTENANCE POSITION AND APPROVE REVISED JOB <br />DESCRIPTION <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Arborist/Parks Maintenance staff has submitted their <br />resignation effective February 7, 2025, creating a vacancy within the department; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department will have a need to fill this full-time, non- <br />exempt position under the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff would like to start the process of advertising for the <br />Arborist/Parks Maintenance position; and <br />WHEREAS, the current Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit requires job <br />vacancies be posted internally for five (5) working days to allow current bargaining unit <br />members to be considered for the vacancy before the job is advertised to the general <br />public; and <br />WHEREAS, only after the vacancy is posted for five (5) working days and no <br />response or qualified candidates are received will the vacancy be posted externally; and <br />WHEREAS, the Arborist/Parks Maintenance position is a Grade 6 with the <br />following wages for 2025: <br />Grade 6 - 2025 <br />4% <br />3.75% <br />3.75% <br />3.75% <br />3.5% <br />3.25% <br />3% <br />2.75% <br />Step 1 <br />Step 2 <br />Step 3 <br />Step 4 <br />Step 5 <br />Step 6 <br />Step 7 <br />Step 8 <br />Step 9 <br />32.89 <br />34.21 <br />35.49 <br />36.82 <br />38.20 <br />39.54 <br />40.83 <br />42.05 <br />43.21 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />authorizes Staff to advertise for the upcoming vacancy for the Position of Arborist/Parks <br />Maintenance Worker and revise the job description. <br />Adopted this 27t" day of January, 2025. <br />Zach Lindstrom, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
