EXHIBIT A <br />Description of Services <br />2021-2023 ASH TREE INJECTIONS <br />2021-2023 <br />A. SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />I. The Services shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and tools for <br />the application of pesticide to existing trees for the purpose of managing Emerald Ash <br />Borer (EAB) tree disease in the City. The City is seeking to establish unit prices for <br />two categories of ash tree treatment. The first category consists of Public Ash Trees <br />located on City -owned property and public right-of-way. The second category consists <br />of Private Ash Trees located on private property. <br />2. Public Ash Trees: The Contractor shall apply pesticide material through trunk <br />injection method to existing ash trees located within City -owned property and public <br />street right-of-way in accordance with State and Federal requirements, manufacturer's <br />recommendations, and as further described within these specifications. <br />3. Private Trees: The Contractor shall provide the City with a unit contract price for <br />applying pesticide material through trunk injection method to existing ash trees located <br />within private property in accordance with State and Federal requirements, <br />manufacturer's recommendations, and as further described within these specifications. <br />The City is NOT responsible for compensating the Contractor for treatment of private <br />trees. It is the City's intention to pass on to property owners a set price per DBH <br />Diameter Breast Height in inches) for the treatment of their private trees. The <br />Contractor shall work with and contract directly with the property owner and will be <br />available to treat trees throughout the city. <br />B. MATERIALS - EQUIPMENT AND TREATMENT SPECIFICATIONS <br />1. Pesticide material shall be a micro -encapsulated liquid formulation of Emamectin <br />Benzoate, known by the brand, TREE -age and manufactured by Arborjet Inc. <br />2. Applicators must demonstrate proficiency with the injection equipment and knowledge <br />of the products used to prevent EAB. Assigned applicators may be required to provide <br />an on -site demonstration prior to the start of the project. <br />a. Formulation Rates: It is the responsibility of the Contractor to follow all <br />insecticide label instructions. Any alterations in the formulations or equipment <br />must be approved in advance. In order to remain responsive to emerging <br />research, the City reserves the right to request a change in formulation rates or <br />application methods for the duration of the Agreement. Any such change and <br />additional costs incurred must be mutually agreed to in writing by both Parties. <br />b. All injections of ash trees must be with a liquid formulation of 4% Emamectin <br />benzoate. The City may give preference to formulations that pose the lowest <br />health risks to applicators as determined by the US EPA signal word listed on <br />the product label.
