Moundsview, Minnesota
This letter provides supporting information for the attached permit
application. Work involved in the construction of Scottland Green Pond
includes grading work in a wetlands area and construction of an outlet
structure for the proposed pond. The following data is enclosed:
1. Completed permit application form W-54.
2. U.S.G.S. quadrangle map showing site location.
3. A preliminary grading plan for the Scottland Green Pond
site.
4. A generalized development plan for the Kraus -Anderson
development that will include the subject pond.
5. Design calculations for sizing of the Scottland Green Pond
storage area and the outlet structure.
6. A report "An Ecological Study for Environmental Assessment"
by Dr. James A. .zones.
7. Various photographs of the exisitng wetlands area.
The area proposed for development is one of the few remaining undevel-
oped areas within the City of Moundsview. It has long been eohsidered
for a major stormwater storage site. In a report by Short, Elliott,
Hendrickson and Associates, Inc., entitled "Report on StorM Water Drainage
Facilities for City of Moundsview, Minnesota" dated August 1976, a pond
having similar sized surface area was proposed. The storage requirements
were somewhat larger due to the plan at that time for diversion of added
drainage area to the pond. That plan was not adopted.
h^
