completed in accordance with the methods defined in the most current version of MnRAM or <br />other acceptable method. <br />Policy 23: A minimum wetland buffer width around all wetlands of 16.5 feet, measured horizontally, is <br />required and the procedures for the City's Wetland Alteration Permit and Wetland Buffer <br />Permit (City Code Chapter 1010) must be followed. <br />7.3.2 LAKE MANAGEMENT <br />Goal: Improve water quality and protect resource value of Spring Lake. <br />Policy 24: Cooperate with the RCWD to identify possible activities to improve water quality in Spring <br />Lake. This includes the findings presented in Phase II of the RCWD Southwest Urban Lakes <br />Study. <br />7.3.3 GROUNDWATER RECHARGE AND PROTECTION <br />Goal: Protect groundwater resources and groundwater -dependent surface water and natural resources. <br />Policy 25: Cooperate with Ramsey County, the Minnesota Department of Health, and RCWD to identify <br />and protect critical groundwater resource areas. <br />Policy 26: Coordinate efforts with other agencies to implement the recommendations identified in the <br />City's Wellhead Protection Plan and Ramsey County Groundwater Quality and Protection Plan. <br />7.3.4 NATURAL AREA MANAGEMENT <br />Goal: Protect and enhance natural areas within the City to provide wildlife habitat and water resource <br />benefits. <br />Policy 27: Support programs to maintain and restore the resource value of natural areas and enhance <br />water -based recreational opportunities. <br />Policy 28: Review and update City code as necessary to include language specific to shoreland <br />management, consistent with state and RCWD guidance. <br />Policy 29: Coordinate with the MnDNR to enhance fish and wildlife habitats and protect rare and <br />endangered species. <br />7.4 CITYWIDE PROGRAM ELEMENTS <br />Overall Goal: Manage water resources and public and private drainage systems on a citywide scale, <br />including monitoring and maintenance of drainage systems, targeted pollution prevention, public <br />education, system reconstruction projects, and equitable collection of supporting funds. <br />City of Mounds View 41 <br />Local Surface Water Management Plan } } Stantec Project No. 193804166 <br />
